Duke is the #3 overall seed and #1 seed in the South
In a pretty surprising seeding, Duke has been placed in the South Region and earned the #3 overall seed in the tournament. Almost everyone had thought that Syracuse would be sent to the South region but instead they were sent out West and Duke to received the spot in the South. So what does this mean for Duke after they won the ACC Tournament on Sunday?

Cobia stacked up
Cobia in Season There are so many cobia stacked up on some of the gulf wrecks the water looks brown when you pull up to them. We had a great day catching cobia last week, with some jacks and shark s thrown in the mix. Not huge fish but some where over 30# and put up a hell of fight on spinning tackle.

Thoughts after crushing North Carolina and a look ahead to the ACC Tournament
What’s going on Duke fans? Sorry for not having a blog article up after the Duke crushing of North Carolina on Saturday night. No matter what I would have said, it probably wouldn’t have made any since as I had a few too many adult beverages during the game

Kentucky Derby Oaks Future Wager 2010
Three-time Grade I stakes winner Blind Luck and rising star Amen Hallelujah are the favored individual fillies in Churchill Downs’ 2010 Kentucky Oaks Future Wager, but oddsmaker Mike Battaglia is betting that the mutuel field, or “all others,” will be the favored betting interest when the three-day pool wraps up early on Sunday evening. Battaglia installed “all others” – a betting interest that includes all 3-year-old fillies other than the 23 individual betting interests in the Oaks Future pool – as the narrow 4-1 choice in the 2010 pool

Duke rallies but falls short against Maryland
Well Duke fans, there isn’t a whole lot to talk about after watching the game Wednesday night. You know anytime that the Terps and Blue Devils collide that it will be a tough game for both teams and that was exactly the way it was. Maryland jumped out to a huge lead during the first 12 minutes of the game, Duke then rallied to only be down two at half time which seemed like a huge accomplishment the way they were shooting the ball in the first half

Sham Stakes Contenders and Post Positions 2010
Ten unproven colts will go to the gate at Santa Anita on Saturday for the 1 1/8 mile, Grade 3 Sham Stakes for 3-year-olds, a pre-lim to the Grade I Santa Anita Derby on April 3 and, more important, a big step toward earning entry into the Kentucky Derby on May 1. The winner will have to impress here in order to harbor a legitimate shot at eventually shipping to Louisville. “Hope” is the key word in $150,000 Sham Stakes as only one of the 10-year-olds entered in the 1 1/8-mile race over the synthetic Pro-Ride surface at Santa Anita has stakes experience.

Eskendereya won Fountain of Youth
From both a visual and speed figure perspective, the performance of the weekend was Eskendereya running away from the field at Gulfstream Park. Buddy’s Saint certainly has an excuse for his poor performance as he got bumped and pinched pretty badly as the field went into the first turn.

Duke heats up in second half to beat Miami
It was a very sluggish start for the Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday night as they played down in Miami. The good thing was that the team came out of the half time break and really showed what kind of basketball they are capable of playing and should be playing every game
